The US government wants to give 500 million dollars to Spirit Airlines. Spirit Airlines is a cheap airline. The company has very little money now.

Spirit Airlines has 15,000 workers. The company tried to join with JetBlue Airways, but it did not happen. Now, fuel for planes costs a lot of money. This is because of wars in the Middle East. The government may give a loan to the airline. If the government does this, it may own 90 percent of the company. President Trump wants to save the jobs. Howard Lutnick likes this plan. Sean Duffy does not like the plan. He thinks the company is not good. Some people say tickets will cost more if Spirit Airlines closes.
