Police Find Old Body Near Walking Track
Introduction
On Friday evening, a person found a very old body near a walking track in Inman Valley, South Australia. Police say the person was killed.
Main Body
The body was down a hill off the South Alma walking track on Mount Alma Road. A person saw it at 5:30pm on Friday while watching animals. Police detectives came that night and looked again the next day. Detective Inspector Andrew Macrae said the body was very old. It was probably there for many years. Police think someone killed the person. They will do tests to find out who the person is and how they died. Police are looking at many ideas. One idea is that this body is connected to other murders about drugs. Someone murdered three men: Trevor King, Robert Atkins, and Jeff Mundy. People last saw Jeff Mundy in December 2020 at Seaford, about 40km away from the body. Police think someone murdered Mundy and left his body on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Police found the other two bodies in 2020 and 2023. Detective Macrae said because of the place, they will check people missing for a long time. Police ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
Conclusion
The investigation is new. Tests are not finished. We do not know who the dead person is or exactly how they died. But police think it is murder and maybe connected to other crimes.
