Reports of Political Clashes in West Bengal Before Second Phase of Voting

In the Howrah district, a fight broke out on GT Road during a march organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and led by candidate Umesh Rai. The incident started when supporters of the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the BJP shouted opposing slogans near a local TMC office. To control the situation, central security forces used batons to separate the two groups. It was noted that while BJP MP Ravi Kishan was leading the event, his vehicle had left the area before the clash began. At the same time, another conflict was reported in Haroa late Saturday night. This clash involved supporters of the Indian Secular Front (ISF) and the TMC. According to reports, the fight happened when ISF members, returning from a march led by Naushad Siddique, met TMC supporters at a street gathering. As a result, a police sub-inspector was injured while trying to stop the dispute. Regarding the injuries, both the TMC and ISF claimed that their members were hurt during these events. These clashes are happening just before the second phase of polling on April 29, with the final vote counting scheduled for May 4.
