Legal Action Taken After Security Camera Interference at M Chinnaswamy Stadium
Introduction
Police have filed a formal complaint (FIR) against two men after they illegally disrupted the CCTV systems at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24.
Main Body
The incident happened around 11:30 am during an IPL match between RCB and GT. The suspects, 37-year-old Manjunath and 19-year-old Abdul Kalam, reportedly entered the stadium using a deactivated access card. Aditya Bhat, representing the AI surveillance company Staqu Technologies Pvt Ltd, submitted the official complaint. According to reports, the men damaged the network video recorders and fiber optic cables. As a result, more than 240 cameras stopped working, which affected security in key areas such as the perimeter and entry gates. It is claimed that the suspects entered the CCTV control room without permission and then damaged cables near the parking area to block the security feeds. Furthermore, the suspects are identified as employees of IVS Digital Solutions, a subcontractor for the stadium. While the damage has been confirmed, the exact motive is still being investigated. However, law enforcement officials suggested that the men may have acted because of a personal dispute regarding unpaid wages.
Conclusion
The surveillance systems were repaired within one hour, and authorities confirmed that the incident did not affect the match.
