Rich People Give More Money to Science

Introduction

Governments give less money to science now. Because of this, rich people and private groups give more money to help scientists.

Main Body

In 2025, the US government stopped many grants. They stopped giving 2.5 billion dollars. This was bad for new students and young scientists. Now, more private groups give money. In 2024, governments gave 63.6 billion dollars. Private groups gave 27 billion dollars. Private groups like to pay for new and risky ideas. Governments are often too careful for these ideas. Some groups help scientists with money for their jobs. They also study big problems like the weather and AI. But there are problems. Many scientists want this money, so it is hard to get. Also, rich people often give money only to schools in their own area.

Conclusion

Private money cannot replace all government money. But it is very important now. It helps scientists find new things when government money is gone.
