Fire Incident at Shangrila-2 Arcade in Ahmedabad

A fire broke out on Monday at a four-story commercial building in Ahmedabad, forcing many people to evacuate the premises.

The incident happened at the Shangrila-2 Arcade, located near Shyamal Crossroads. The building houses a private bank on the ground floor, while the upper floors are used for offices and a gym. The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services reported that they received the emergency call around 10:15 am, and as a result, 38 fire engines were sent to the scene. Regarding how the fire started, officials and a security guard, Shrikant Tripathi, claimed that the blaze began near an ATM inside the ground-floor bank. The fire then spread to the parking area and moved up to the higher floors. Because smoke filled the building, approximately 25 people became trapped in the gym on the fourth floor. Firefighters emphasized that they successfully rescued everyone, including the 25 people on the top floor, and no injuries were reported. While several motorcycles parked near the bank were damaged, the fire was eventually brought under control. However, the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated.
