The Lyrid meteor shower is here. People in the North can see it from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

NASA says you can see 10 to 20 meteors every hour. This happens because Earth moves through old pieces of a comet. This comet is very old. People wrote about these meteors 2,500 years ago. The moon is not bright, so the sky is dark. This is good for seeing the stars. You can see this event from many places, but the North is the best vantage point. Go outside after 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Do not stay in the city. The city lights are too bright. Do not use your phone. Wait 15 to 30 minutes for your eyes to see in the dark. Look at the Lyra constellation in the northeast sky. You will see trails of light. Some meteors happen every night, but this event has many more.
