Big Fire in Sabah Water Village

Introduction

A big fire happened in a water village in Sabah, Malaysia. It happened early on Sunday. Many houses burned down. Many people lost their homes.

Main Body

The fire started at 1:32 a.m. in Kampung Bahagia. The houses there are made of wood. They stand on poles over the water. Many poor people live there. Some reports say 200 homes burned. Other reports say 1,000 homes burned. The fire was very big. It covered a large area. More than 9,000 people were affected. The firemen had many problems. The wind was very strong. The wooden houses were very close together. This made the fire spread fast. The roads were too narrow for big fire trucks. Also, the water level was low, so it was hard to get water to fight the fire. Finally, the fire stopped.

Conclusion

No people died or got hurt. The government is helping the people now. They are giving them food and places to sleep. People cannot live in the village now because it is not safe.
