Dutch Intelligence: Russia and China Are Big Threats

On April 23, the Dutch intelligence agency (AIVD) gave its yearly report. It says the danger to the country is very big. It is the biggest danger since World War II. The report says Russia and China are the biggest outside dangers. There are also dangerous groups inside the country.

The director of AIVD, Simone Smit, said the danger is very high. She said the agency never saw such a big danger in 80 years. The world is not stable now. Russia is doing bad things on the internet. Russia is getting ready for a long fight with the West. A war between Russia and NATO is possible now. Russia says it does not want to attack NATO. It says the West is a danger to Russia. China is trying to get new technology in a bad way. China wants to change the world. China says it does not do bad things. Inside the country, some groups are dangerous. They are jihadist and far-right groups. More young people like these groups.
